Secondary Online Course Guidelines
Hitchcock ISD Commitments
Hitchcock ISD will provide students with the space, technology, resources, and in-class facilitator daily.
Hitchcock ISD will provide progress reports every six weeks to all students enrolled in Edgenuity courses.
Student Expectations
Students must complete weekly assignments/assessments as outlined by the course syllabus and earn at least a 70% on all assignments.
Students must communicate immediately with the in-class facilitator if they need assistance with meeting their weekly course goals.
Students must communicate immediately with their online instructor if they need assistance with the content and/or assignments presented in the course.
Students must meet the 90% attendance requirement, outlined by the state of Texas, and actively participate in their course daily.
Family Expectations
Parents/Guardians must login to their student’s online course portal to monitor their student’s progress and communicate with Hitchcock High School campus administration via phone or email if there are any questions or concerns.
Grading/Credit Earned Guidelines
The grades in the online portal will be updated weekly and will accurately reflect the student's mastery of the assignment. Incomplete assignments will be reflected by a grade of 0% and will be calculated into the student’s grade average.
The grades in Hitchcock ISD’s parent portal will reflect a “P” (progressing) until the end of each semester. Once grades are submitted, the Parent Portal will be updated to accurately reflect the grade earned.
Online course grades will be calculated into the student’s grade point average (GPA).
If a student fails to earn at least a 70% average from the fall and spring semesters, the student will not receive credit for the course and will be required to retake either the failed semester or full course during summer school or during the following school year on their own time.
